LT GEN Edward L. Rowny

US Ambassador and LT GEN Edward L. Rowny (ret.)

... Has been a staunch supporter of ParadeRestsince its creation in central Virginia in 2009.   A 1941 graduate of West Point, General Rowny is a highly decorated veteran of WWII, Korea where he was a chief architect of the Inchon landing, and Vietnam.  He served as a senior advisor to Generals George C. Marshall and Douglas MacArthur. His most important contribution was in the cold war, where he served as Ambassador and Chief Arms Control Negotiator to Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan and George H.W. Bush.  We salute General Rowny, a frequent guest of ParadeRestin Charlottesville, and wish him well as he approaches his 100th birthday.
